A ROMAN MARBLE JANIFORM HERM
Circa 1st Century A.D.
One side with a head of a maenad, with large almond-shaped eyes, her mouth somewhat smiling, wearing a fillet of ivy and berries in her center-parted hair, which cascades in thick strands on her forehead; the other side with a bearded head of Dionysus, his spade-shaped beard with wavy locks, a thin cleft dividing the beard, with a wide flaring mustache which flows into the beard, his wavy locks center parted, a crescentic diadem in his hair, with grape vines on the sides of his head
