A LATE ROMAN BRONZE ANTROPOMORPHIC LAMP
Circa 4th-5th Century A.D.
The lamp in the form of a reclining nude woman, her figure with accentuated curves, her legs outstretched and held together, her feet flexed against the spade-shaped nozzle, her arms held at her sides, lifting her head slightly, creating "venus" lines along her neck, her center-parted hair pulled back from her forehead, with large loops in her ears for now-missing earrings, wearing a beaded choker and a bracelet on each wrist, a hinge at the nape of her neck for a now-missing lid
