Leslie H. Nash's patent for the 'favrile fabrique' shade design, a "new, original, and ornamental Design for a Lamp-Shade" dated 14 October 1913 and numbered 44,731, is part of lot 310, a group of archival materials from the Estate of Leslie H. Nash. According to Nash's annotations that accompanied the patent, "there were many other forms used in shades and lighting fixtures" and "I was advised that my original patent covered all these things." He added that "it is not necessary to go further as the shired (sic) silk effect covers them all."
