2 vols., 8o. Half-titles, 2-page errata at end, 2 letterpress folding tables in vol. I, 13 finely engraved folding plates by and after the author's wife, Marie Anne Pierrette Paulze Lavoisier, woodcut head- and tailpieces by Papillon. (Several plates lightly rubbed, folding creases, the last plate worn along fore-edge, volume II with title, preliminaries and last several gatherings with paper discoloration around the text block, occasional marginal soiling, a few leaves with paper flaws at the sheet edges, some light foxing.) Contemporary decorated vellum, paper spine labels (volume I loose in stitching, all hinges weak, backstrips worn and faded).
