The cross associated; the reverse of the cross engraved with symbols of the four Evangelists on the terminals and the Lamb in the centre; on a later ebonised stepped wood base.
Dark brown patina with medium brown high points; traces of gilding; losses; other minor damages.

This processional cross was probably manufactured in Scandinavia as the result of strong Christian influence on the pagan Nordic lands. A common feature in decorative metalwork is animal ornament, linked spirals and scrolled finials as evident from the incised figures on the back of the cross.
