Modern half-calf and buckram (shelf wear, hinges starting). First published in 1734, this account of the deeds of an array of highwaymen, thieves and murderers went through many editions, from a variety of printers and with a variety of illustrations. The tales of piracy were taken from Johnson/Defoe's earlier work issued in 1724.
