Osei Bonsu and his father, Kwahu Bempah, produced carvings for the British Empire exhibition at Wembley, London, in 1924; Osei also carved the gift for Franklin Roosevelt from Lord Swinton in 1939. Osei's son, Kojo Bonsu, continued to carve in a similar manner to his father, and they all worked for the court in Kumasi.
