Lot Essay

A study for one of the bishops in Allori's fresco The Corpse of Saint Antonino carried by the Bishops in the vault of the Cappella Salviati in the Church of S. Marco, Florence. It forms part of the fresco cycle dedicated to the life of the Florentine Saint Antonino Pierozzi, painted by Allori in 1588.
