A Berlin oval dish and a Derby (Robt. Bloor's factory) replacement for the same service
Circa 1770 and 1835, the first with underglaze blue sceptre mark, the second with circular red stamped mark, paper label inscribed 1850 and Anglesey in manuscript ink inscription
Both of shaped oval fluted form, the centres with loose bouquets and scattered flower-sprays beneath, each within four shaped pink-scale-ground cartouches edged with gilt flowers and foliage, the rims with a moulded band of pink-ribbon tied reed ornament (minor wear)

Lot Essay

This pattern would seem to be closely related to that of a service made for Frederick the Great made by the KPM factory in 1768-69, although the scale-pattern panels are in pink and not red. See Erich Köllmann, Berliner Porzellan 1763-1963 (1966), Tafel 55, nos. 269-270.
