A Chelsea-Derby claret-ground two-handled cup, cover and stand
Circa 1775, gilt entwined anchor and D mark
Painted in the manner of Richard Askew, the cover with two oval cartouches enclosing martial and amatory trophies, the cup and saucer with cherubs disporting themselves among clouds within oval gilt-bordered cartouches linked by gilt garlands of flowers and foliage (hairline crack to cover, sanding to saucer and overall wear to gilding)
