The first engraved with a ship passing beneath Sunderland Bridge within an oval dot cartouche, the reverse with the initials WN within a sunray cartouche, on a square lemon-squeezer foot, 5½ in. (14 cm.) high; the second with a pointed oviform bowl, on a stepped square base, 63/8 in. (16 cm.) high (2)

The initials of the first rummer are reputed to be those of Captain William Norris R.N.
