A Sceaux asparagus-tureen and cover
Circa 1750
Naturally modelled as a tightly stacked bundle of asparagus spears bound with trailing vine, the finial formed as a vine leaf, painted in grand feu colours, the pale-yellow stems and green tips with brown markings (some fritting and slight chipping to extremities, tureen broken through and restored, cover with small restored chip to base of one shoot)
Approximately 67/8 in. (17.5 cm.) long
