Lot Essay

Cf. Horst Reber, Die Kurmainzische Porzellanmanufaktur Höchst (Münich 1986) for illustrated Höchst models of parrots. The present lot would appear to be an unrecorded model. The use of enamel colours and high-fired colours on different parts of the same piece to achieve differing technical effects is a testimony to the skill of Zeschinger, the leading Maler at Höchst.
