A Böttger two-handled baluster vase
Circa 1725
Modelled by J.J. Irminger, moulded and enriched with enamels and gilding, each handle with a scrolling leaf above a C-scroll and husk terminal, the sides with flowering shrubs issuing from green and brown mounds, a border of lambrequin ornament with gilt tassels below a band of interwoven blue ribbons enclosing gilt lozenges at the rim, the bulbous lower part with gadroons divided by flowerheads and dot ornament, the waisted foot edged with a band of gadroons divided by scrolls (shallow chip to a leaf, minute chip to one handle, some wear to gilding)
