Four Meissen groups of the elements
Circa 1745, Air with blue crossed swords mark to underside and Water and Fire with blue crossed swords mark at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, each as a scantily draped nymph two putti, Earth with a cornucopia of fruit and flowers, Air with birds, a peacock and bellows, Fire with a vigorously burning pyre, a torch and brazier and Water with an upturned jar and eel-basket, on oval mound bases (Earth with restoration to leaves on tree, Air with restoration to cloud base beneath peacock, to one bird and to nymph's left foot, Fire repaired through base and restored and with restoration to nymph's body and brazier and putto, Water with cracks through base extending up nymph's body, all with minor damages to extremities)
