The America's Cup Yacht VIGILANT
Anononymous, 20th century.
A solid hull model with white painted topsides, rust red painted bottom, and an applied black waterline. The deck of the model is of basswood veneer which has been scored to replicate planking. The planking seams have been darkened to resemble caulking. The model is rigged with a single mast which is rigged with spreaders, stays, halyards and other standing and running rigging. The model is fitted with numerous details including: deck hatches, companionways, coils of line, life rings, wheel, binnacle, ships boat, among others. The model is mounted in a mahogany and glass display case with fan inlays in the corners of the case and brass trim around the edge of the glass.
