A Sterling Silver Medallion Commemorating The Maiden Voyage Of The S.S. NORMANDIE

For the French Line, of typical form, cast in relief showing a port bow view of the S.S. NORMANDIE and marked with the gross tonnage, the company name, LeHavre-New York/1935. On the obverse is an image of a classical female figure with a seahorse in the background. All cast in relief, and in the original case.
The silver medallion was given to VIPS of the French Line rather than the more common bronze medallion which also commemorated the maiden voyage.
