A fine 13-inch (33cm.) diameter terrestrial table globe made up of twelve engraved yellow gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees, hours and minutes, the Meridian of Greenwich ungraduated, the equinoctial colure graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month with names and of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the poles each with a printed hour dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, the oceans with an analemma and the tracks of numerous explorers including Cook, De La Perouse, Vancouver, Wilkes, Clerke and Gore, with some notes and dates, the Antarctic showing coastline for Palmer's or Graham's Land, I. of Alexander Ist or Bellinghausen, Enderby's Land 1831, Land discovered by Capt. Wilkes of the U.S. Ship Vincennes, Balleny Is, Victoria Land with M.t Erebus and M.t Terror and I. of Peter Ist, with a further note reading Capt. J. Weddell R.N. reached this point 182[3], the continents hand-outlined in green and showing rivers, mountains, deserts, towns, cities and the Great Wall of China, Alaska labelled RUSSIAN AMERICA with the Boundary settled 1825, North America showing the territories of various native tribes, including the Mountain Indians, the Chipewyans, the Assiniboins, the Mandans and many others, central Africa with little detail and labelled UNEXPLORED REGIONS with further notes such as Giagas or Jagas, Moombas, Extensive Deserts, Jibbel el Kumri or Mts. of the Moon, Stony Desert, Saltwater Lakes, Oasis of Iziah, Copper Mines, Trader's Route and many others, Australia subtitled formerly called New Holland, Tasmania labelled as VAN DIEMEN'S LAND OR TASMANIA, the islands of New Zealand labelled in Maori TAVAI POENAMOO and EAHEI NOMAUWE (repairs to both Poles with some redrawing to edge of hour dials, some fading to north Atlantic), with stamped brass meridian circle, the mahogany horizon with hand-coloured engraved paper ring showing degrees of amplitude and azimuth, compass directions, days of the houses of the Zodiac with pictures, names and sigils, days of the month and minutes of the clock before or behind the sun, with four baluster turned mahogany legs united by cross stretchers -- 18½in. (47cm.) high
