A 7-inch (17.8cm.) diameter marine star globe made up of twelve cream-coloured printed gores laid to the celestial poles, the equatorial graduated in degrees and hours, the colures graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month, the constellations identified by dotted lines connecting the stars, shown to five magnitudes and labelled with Greek characters, some named, with stamped brass meridian circle and removable hemisphere of four graduated altitude quadrants surmounted by a ball finial, mounted in the original mahogany box with stamped brass horizon graduated 0-360° and further stamped H.H. & S LTD No3624, the lid applied with printed paper instructions for the use of the globe, dated 1975, and two removable brass index clamps for the altitude quadrants, the box with two brass hooks and eyes -- 10½in. (26.7cm.) wide
