The engagement between the Boxer and the Enterprise, 5th Sept. 1813
signed 'John Bentham Dinsdale' (lower right)--signed again, dated '5th Sept 1813' and inscribed 'Action between Boxer and Enterprise. The two ships came to action off the New England coast. On a rising wind the ships came together in the afternoon. It was remarkable that the Captains of both Ships were killed. The British Boxer suffered heavy damage and was taken as a prize by the American Enterprise' (on the reverse)
