Lot Essay

A student of Gaspard Landi in Rome, Goubaud was appointed Drawing Master at the Ecole centrale de dessin in Marseilles and Director of the Museum. Goubaud became Drawing Master to the King of Rome in 1808. Loyal to Napoléon in 1815, he went into exile to Brussels and London.
