A 19th-Century lacquered-brass 2¾-inch refracting telescope,
signed on the back plate DOLLOND LONDON, the 43¼in. (110cm.) long body-tube with rack and pinion focusing, dust cap, four eyepieces and extension tube, raised on a compass joint and tapering pillar support and folding tripod stand, with owner's engraved brass label inscribed ALFRED LOCHEE, ESQUIRE: M.D., WITH GRATEFUL THANKS OF A PATIENT AND FRIEND, M.W., and a paper label inscribed in ink:"The moon and the stars which thou hast ordained", the case -- 45in. (114.3cm.) long
