A late 17th/early 18th Century four-bulb sand-glass,
unsigned, each double-bulb joined with wax, covered with silk and cord-bound, three bulbs filled with fine orange-red sand, one bulb (empty) loose at the join, the upper and lower plates joined by brass rods, the upper and lower frieze with shaped, cut and pierced decoration, the upper plate with traces of deep green lacquer -- 10½in. (26.7cm.) wide
