(21cm.) wide, the contents including seventy-two diamond-engraved amateur-made slides, some with additional pasted labels, various subjects including entomology, a collection of slides by W. Watson & Sons, Norman, Lewis Woolman of Philadelphia, Arthur J. Doherty, H. Boecker of Wetzlar, H.W. Fuller of Chicago and other preparers, a prize medal slide from the Atlantic Challenger Expedition 1867, and a single slide by [?] J.B. Dancer illustrating Cupid in J.B.D.'s garden; and a linen-covered box of twenty-four slides comprising five microphotographs of drawings by Gustav Doré, four slides with black and gilt labels by J.B. Dancer, three slides with white J.B. Dancer labels, subjects: teak tree, shepherdia canadensins, and rhododendron, other slides include four J.B. Dancer mineralogy slides, Dancer numbers 10, 16, 20 and 22, two microphotographic slides by E. Wheeler, another unnamed of Roslin Chapel, another microphotographic slide diamond-engraved and signed Pride on the Downs W.M., three Dancer slides numbered 57, 92 and 260, and another slide, the box -- 6¼in. (15.8cm.) wide
