possibly made to contain a simple microscope with accessories by Jan Van Musschenbroek, the silver mounts with engraved decoration of tulips and foliage the lid applied with the initials 'T.S.' (the T damaged), the interior of the lid with embossed decoration, with leather lined drawer 7¼in. (18.4cm.) long
