An unusual wooden cutaway display model of a water tube boiler built by Chicago model works,
with metal plate engraved J.C. Seyl.Prop., 179 Madison St, Chicago for The Stirling Company Chicago, with three top and one bottom drums connected with water tubes, grate, the tubes separated by fire brick walls and arches and grate, the whole contained within a cutaway brick shell with one face of simultated metal with fire doors, inspection panels and access doors, removable curved 'roof', finished in simulated brickwork and metal (some old damages, chimney missing) -- 21 x 18½in. (53.3 x 47cm.)
