Lot Essay

The present figures are exceptionally close in the treatment of the facial types, the carving of the hair and beards, and the handling of the draperies to the work of Jörg Lederer, and especially to his spectacular winged altarpiece of circa 1513 on the high altar of the hospital church of Santo Spirito at Laces in Bolzano.
