The case with scroll-arched top with carved leafy mouldings to the front, chamfered front angles terminating in scrolls, bevelled glass side panels, on stepped base, with tracery frame to the door, conforming silvered slip to the silvered Roman dial with leafy scroll engraved borders and plain centre, grotesque mask above XII with slow/fast aperture for a mouth, signed in the centre ALEX. GUILLAUME London, with blued steel hands, the single chain fusee movement with large gilt platform for the plain brass three arm balance with lever escapement, signed on the backplate ALEX.
