FIRST EDITION, THE RARE FIRST ISSUE of 35 privately-printed advance copies that were "sent to friends of the publisher;" it is a bit taller than copies of the regular trade issue and has the statement "Privately Printed...1921" on verso of title-page; the Contents leaf is in first state (as in all advance issue copies) with the "S" and the "A" missing in the word "SEA"; dust jackets were probably not issued with these advance copies.
