WHITMAN, Walt. Autograpgh (draft?) letter, unsigned, to an unidentified correspondent (apperently the editor of a periodical). N.p., 26 July 1886. 1 page, 4to, small chips small tears at edges professionally repaired, slight loss to left edge affecting one word. OFFERING AN ARTICLE. Whitman drafts a letter, apparently to an editor, offering an article he has written about a hospital: "I send you the Hospital article [not present] at last...I have preferred to give human cases, with their emotional accompaniments, sketched on the spot, to any statistics. (although I am fully supplied with the latter). As I may work in more, or make some changes, send me proof soon, I will get it ship-shape--to be fixed. The price of the article if you want--I hope in the Novem[ber issue?] is $150--& I reserve right of printing in future book." Not in Correspondence, ed. Miller.
