WHITMAN, Walt. 2 autograph postcards signed ("Walt Whitman" and "W W") to William Sloane Kennedy, Camden N.J., 13 January 1891 and 7 July [1889]. Together 2 pages, oblong, addressed by Whitman, fine.
To the journalist on 7 July 1889: "Yr card ab't Dutch piece to Stoddart comes...My Hollandish forebearness is something I hug closely to. The next N A Rev: is to have a piece by me on 'American Nat'l Literature' !!! it is touch'd off with the most careless touch I probably ever allowed my pen-you will laugh...Traubel comes faithfully daily." And on 13 January 1891: "Nothing very new or different...go out in the wheelchair...a letter from Mrs. O C Washin(?). She is gloomily poorly left without means. Partly printed document accomplished and signed ("Walt Whitman"), Camden, 9 May 1889. 1 p., oblong (67 x 158 mm.), triangular cancellation slits, slight browning, attractively mounted and framed with black and white engraving of the artist.
