Details
$5, 1845-D VF-25 (PCGS). Very pale yellow gold, almost silver in appearance. Some marks here and there, as would be expected from a VF-grade coin. This is one of the more available Dahlonega half eagles, from a mintage of 90,629 coins. Such pieces are of evergreen popularity. Another typical coin-one that must have been in quite a few pockets and on many gaming tables during the dozen years of its circulating life.
