Popular 1854-S Eagle
Inaugural 'S' Issue
Rare so Fine
$10, 1854-S AU-58 (PCGS). Medium yellow gold with coppery highlights. Full lustre and very pleasing. Although a fairly plentiful issue in lower grades, the 1854-S eagle is very rare in full Mint State or close to it. Very popular as the first eagle issue of the nascent San Francisco Mint. This specimen is especially attractive and evocative.
