Marvelous Chilean Display Coin
Chile. 1853 50 Centavos. KM-128. With fabric attached. Nearly Mint State in a technical state with vestiges of lustre still apparent. Corrosion has made the coin a leaden gray with some other mineral deposits noted, though they do not obscure the coin. Small piece of woven fabric still adheres to the coin's reverse, a wonderful association piece that may have been a cloth money sack or, more morbidly, a pocket. An interesting specimen of the multinational circulating media of the San Francisco area made relic by its accompanying association piece.
