A shinton wood verge inro watch
Circa 1850
the brass dials with sliding numerals adjustable according to the seasons, single steel hand, fusee and gut movement with verge escapement and foliate engraved backplate, pierced and engraved balance cock, the carved rectangular case with rounded sides and carved with scrolling foliage, the reverse carved with a flying horse amongst clouds emerging from a double gourd vase held in the hands of a scholar within a roundel, the lid with sliding panel enclosing the key, suspended from an ivory and bronze manju netsuke -- the wood case 23/8in. (6.1cm.) diam. max., (brass feezel and glass case missing). See Illustration.

On the Friday one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £17.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.00 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
