inset to the centre with a panel of gilt and white metal, decorated in high relief with a dragon emerging from scrolling clouds above foaming waves, the interior cover decorated with bamboo sprays in black and gold lacquer, the interior box fitted with instruments, a circular inkstone and a white metal suiteki in the form of two song birds in flight on a nashiji ground, with a fitted wooden box, -- 11in. (28cms.) wide, (some damages).
