A pair of bronze slender tapering oviform vases
19th century
with lion mask and loose ring handles, set on shaped feet with taotie decoration, the bodies partly decorated in relief, onlaid and inlaid in copper, silver and gilt leaping carp beneath waterfalls beside rockwork issuing bamboo sprays, the reverses with birds in flight before wild flowers, all above bands of guei dragons -- 13in. (33cms) high.
