The case of typical form inlaid to the front door and arched top with foliate pewter and brass premier partie marquetry, the sides surmounted to the front with flambeau urn finials, narrow arched glazed sides, the moulded base with a later ormolu foliate cast drape to the centre and on later toupie feet, the velvet-covered dial signed N. Hanet. AParis beneath a foliate cast mount below the gilt Roman and Arabic chapter ring with foliate pierced and engraved hands, the twin going barrel movement with arched plates secured by four back-pinned vase-shaped pillars, later calibrated countwheel strike on bell above via vertically positioned hammer, verge escapement with silk-suspended pendulum, the back-plate signed Nicolas, Hanet, AParis; with restorations
