The case of rectangular form with flowerhead trellis engraving to the front and top with later handle, the sides almost entirely glazed and the base on simple bun feet, convex glass to the white enamel Roman and Arabic chapter disc signed Charles. Le Roy A Paris in the centre, pierced ormolu hour and minute hands, blued steel alarm hand, winding squares at V for the going, at XI for the strike and by 10 for the alarm, the movement with large rectangular plates and four back-pinned pillars, twin going barrels, the strike with turned steel locking pallet to the calibrated star-pierced countwheel with strike on bell above, tic-tac escapement to the going train with silk-suspended pendulum, the back-plate engraved at the base Chles.
