The white enamel dial signed JOHN ARNOLD. LONDON. No. 63, Roman hour numerals, outer minute chapter with Arabic 5 minute intermarkers 60-5-10 et seque, large subsidiary seconds dial intersecting VI, blued steel hands, pinned gilt frame, the top-plate inscribed John Arnold London, Invt et Fecit No. 20/63, pierced balance cock, Arnold escapement and recessed detent with jewelled locking stone, Z + O balance, the bimetallic Z rim with non-ferrous outer and steel inner laminae with brass cross-arm, the O being of gilt brass with three suspended equilaterally positioned brass weights, blued steel helical balance spring, silver hinged two-piece case, casemaker T.H. (Thomas Hailes, 1 Higgin Lane), in velvet-lined three-piece mahogany deck watch box
