Maker's mark of George John Richards, London, 1853
Comprising: teapot, cream jug and open two-handle sugar bowl, the melon form bodies on four bracket scroll feet, the teapot with scroll handle and spout, the hinged domed cover rising to a floral finial, the cream and sugar bowl with matching scroll handles; together with an Edwardian two-handled tray, maker's mark HEB/FEB, Chester, 1915, and a pair of Victorian sugar tongs.
The teapot 11in. (28cm.) across; the tray 26½in. (67.4cm.) across handles; gross weight 161oz. (5)
