The case with gilt-metal handle and foliate mounts to the cushion-moulded top flanked by four foliate urn finials, later pierced wood sound fret to the front door, glazed sides, the moulded base on gilt-metal bun feet, the later 6½ in. sq. dial with silvered chapter ring and blued steel hands, matted centre with calendar aperture, foliate spandrels, latches to the six ringed pillars of the movement with twin gut fusees, re-converted verge escapement, pull quarter repeat on three bells with hour strike on further bell, the tulip engraved backplate singed within a foliate cartouche Edwardus Burgis Londini fecit; case, dial and movement composite
