They are views and portraits, painted while the artist travelled in Russia from 1871 and in western Europe, mainly in Italy, in 1873 before arriving in Paris, where he stayed until 1876. These were preserved in an album that M. Lefèvre took with him from Russia at the time of the revolution and kept until his death in the 1960's.
