A gift to Coward from director Charles Vidor. In 1955, Coward was enjoying huge success in Las Vegas, and after the run of shows came to a close, he went to Hollywood to discuss several film projects. Whilst there he was fêted by the stars and at a party thrown in his honour by Frank Sinatra, the director Charles Vidor...was prompted to pull off his amethyst and gold buttons and cufflinks as an impromtu present
