(49.5x30.5cm.); a typescript letter, signed, from Gloria Swanson, 1st April, 1952 to a fan...My only regret is not winning the Oscar [for Sunset Boulevard] is the disappointment it has caused such a wonderful friends [sic] as you are...., signed Gloria, with handwritten postscript...I shall be terribly disappointed if you don't get to see 20th....; a California Bank cheque, dated 5/13/37, for $211.66, signed by Mae West; a brief typescript thank you note, signed, on Katharine Houghton Hepburn headed stationery, dated 13th February, 1976; a Hotel D'Angleterre menu, signed inside in black ink by Mary Pickford; a hardback book COWARD, Noël Present Indicative, signed and inscribed on the flyleaf by the author and dated 4/8/39; a Danish Tarzan magazine, 1970s, signed and inscribed on the cover in red ballpoint pen Johnny Weissmuller, Tarzan; approximately thirty-eight black and white publicity photographs and postcards, majority signed, subjects include: Josephine Baker (3); Edith Piaf, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, James Cagney, Barbara Stanwyck, Cary Grant, Anna May Wong (2), Claudette Colbert, Marlene Dietrich, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford (2), Greer Garson, Emeric Pressburger, Michael Powell, Deanna Durbin (2), Danny Kaye, Conrad Veidt and Tyrone Power, majority -- 10x8in. (25.4x20.3cm.); and approximately twenty-one album pages, all individually signed, subjects include: Rita Hayworth, Laurel and Hardy, Paul Muni, Ronald Colman, Noël Coward, Joe E. Brown, Paul Robeson, Marlene Dietrich, Claudette Colbert, Frederick March, Merle Oberon, Orson Welles, George Formby, Paul Heinreid and Madeleine Carroll (a lot)
