Two prop swords of medieval knightly form, both with steel blade, plain cruciform hilts, flattened pommels decorated either side with an embossed cross, one with hilt and pommel painted silver, both -- 39in. (99cm.) long -- both made for the 1995 Columbia production First Knight; accompanied by a letter concerning the provenance (3)

Lot Essay

The vendor acquired these swords by trading them for a costume with a member of the Prop department who worked on the film. A similar sword can be seen in the film in the fight sequence involving Richard Gere as Lancelot.
