A prop lifejacket of cream linen with two tie fastenings to the waist and one between the legs, the front and back panels filled with polystyrene, hung on a brass rail on a piece of wood, with a brass plaque engraved Titanic, 20th Century Fox, 1997, overall measurements -- 37¾x22in. (95.9x55.9cm.); and a blueprint titled the Rigging Plan of R.M.S. Titanic -- 15x50in. (38.1x127cm.) -- both made for the 1997 Twentieth Century Fox production Titanic; accompanied by two documents concerning the provenance (4)

Lot Essay

The lifejacket in this lot is identical to those seen during the dramatic scenes as Titanic sinks. Similar blueprints are seen in the film at Andrews' table where he is sitting when the ship first hits the iceberg and is also similar to those he then brings from his room and rolls out when discussing the damage with the Captain and Officers.
