Muir History of Australian childrens book illustration pp 29-31, reproducing two of Emma Minnie Boyd's illustrations 'wife of artist Arthur Boyd. She was an artist of considerable talent ... the simple domestic scenes she depicted of children in natural surroundings - colonial rather than English - show her sympathy for her subject. Certainly Australian children would have felt at home with her illustration'
