A Lady in an Interior, in a yellow satin dress, with a globe on a table beside her, mourning the absence of her husband

The great collection of pictures and sculptures at Grittleton was formed in the second quarter of the nineteenth century. This picture was traditionally attributed to Louis-Léopold Boilly but its correct authorship was recognized by Pascal Zuber, the joint author of the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the paintings of Boilly.
