We are grateful to Dr. Sam Segal for the attribution. He compares the present painting with a vanitas still life in the Musée des Beaux- Arts, Rennes, which was originally attributed to Cornelis Gysbrechts and later attributed to Franciscus Gysbrechts in the exhibition at Caen, Les vanités dans la peinture au XVIIe siècle, 1990, no. 51.
